Saltwater Woodworks has evolved from primarily the design/construction of fine cabinetry and furniture to a single source destination where a multitude of varied yet related products and services are offered. Those looking for a source of fine interior construction and furnishings heavily influenced by the use of reclaimed wood and other materials will not be disappointed.
To complement the cabinetry, we offer a variety of flooring from reclaimed wood from multiple sources. The varied species showcase the beauty and character of aged wood. Our collection of contemporary/antique reproduction furniture used reclaimed wood either entirely or as an accent.
In a collaboration with an artisan new to the area, we offer truly unique (really) furnishings made from salvaged/repurposed materials and found objects. The pieces are made with attention to preserving the origin and character of the materials allowing them to showcase their history. The term unique was invented to describe these pieces.
Our creativity, craftsmanship, and attention to detail are evident in everything we do, our craftsmen come from a variety of backgrounds with an impressing array of skills, which combined, allow us to provide our clients a comprehensive range of services from design construction and installation to furnishings and décor.
Saltwater Woodworks began in 2001 as a one man operation. Originally located in Dennis, Matt Sullivan built his shop alongside his home creating one of a kind, handcrafted furniture and cabinetry. In 2012, Saltwater Woodworks became a part of C & J Hunt Constructions Services, offering furniture, kitchens and cabinetry for commercial as well as residential projects.
Unlike most of the competition we use beautifully aged, reclaimed wood in our flooring and furniture as well as salvaged/repurposed objects in our collection of truly one of a kind furniture and decorative objects.
Saltwater Woodworks was featured in the Boston Globe 2015 for work completed on the interior at Bear-n-Boots restaurant at 285 Main Street, Falmouth, MA. Saltwater Woodworks built the bar and tables along with the wainscoting. The bar and tables were made from 100-year-old sunken oak recovered from Boston Harbor. A unique feature that was incorporated into the center of each table as well as the back bar is an inlay from wine crates that the owner’s father had collected.
Saltwater Woodworks also created the new interior for Copper Wok on Main Street in Vineyard Haven, Martha’s Vineyard. Woodworking here included curved bamboo bars, curved and straight banquet seating, the back bar, the chandelier, and many display cabinets.
The repurposed furniture has been used in multiple residential/commercial projects in the New York/Litchfield County Ct. area.
